Aadhaar-PAN linking must from July 1, govt notifies rules NEW DELHI: The government has forced taxpayers to link existing Aadhaar numbers with PAN cards as of July 1. By amending the income tax rules and notifying it, the government has made the  Aadhaar  12-digit biometric quote or the identification of the inscription a necessity at the time of application of the permanent account number (PAN). Finance Minister Arun Jaitley through an amendment to the tax proposals in the Finance Act for 2017-18 had made Aadhaar mandatory to file income tax returns and provided the linkage of PAN with Aadhaar to control tax evasion Through the use of multiple PAN cards. Elderly man held for molesting minorption BENGALURU: A 62-year-old retired government member of staff was under arrest under the Pocso Act, for barging into a residence and sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl, in Indira Colony,   Chandra Layout   on Sunday.  Chinnamariah stayed with his wife and three children in the same locality and he was known to the girl's parents. Impact of Karnataka Bandh Press club of Bangalore called for a conference to resolve the conflicts regarding the Karnataka bandh. The pro-kannada organizations had called for a bandh on Monday to fulfill their demands that included farm loan waiver, water scarcity in arid areas such as  Kolar, Chikkabalapur, Davangere and Chitradurga  and Narender Modi’s intervention in the mahadayi river water dispute .
